Welcome to Atos Jiu Jitsu School Barcelona — a proud member of the world-renowned Atos Jiu Jitsu team, with roots that trace back to the global headquarters in San Diego, California, under the leadership of Professor André Galvão. Our school was founded with a shared mission: to offer world-class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction to everyone, from complete beginners to elite competitors in Spain.

Our Professors

🥋 Professor Gustavo Galvão – Head Instructor

A 3rd degree black belt, Professor Gustavo brings decades of experience to the mat. Known for his detailed, technical approach and passion for teaching, he has formed champions and helped countless students develop both on and off the tatami. His leadership sets the tone for our academy’s high standards in training, discipline, and community spirit.

🥇 Professor Tamara Toros – Co-owner & Instructor

An accomplished black belt professional athlete, multiple-time World and European champion in the coloured belts and now co-owner of Atos Barcelona, Tamara leads with both intensity and compassion. She is not only an elite-level competitor, but a role model — especially for women in the sport. Tamara also heads our women’s and kids' programs, inspiring the next generation through top-tier instruction and mentorship.

🏆 Professor Alexis Rey – Instructor

Professor Alexis is a dedicated and driven practitioner, best known for becoming a No-Gi European Champion (Master 1). As a black belt and passionate teacher, he combines competitive experience with a deep commitment to sharing knowledge. Alexis believes in helping each student discover their own path in Jiu-Jitsu, whether it’s for fitness, self-defense, or competition.
